MI skipper Hardik Pandya led from the front with a spirited performance, scoring 52 runs off 43 balls and taking two wickets. After the match, former MI captain Rohit Sharma praised Pandya's leadership, saying, "He has taken over the captaincy and has shown great maturity. He has led by example, both on and off the field."
Pandya's appointment as captain came after the resignation of Rohit Sharma ahead of the season. Pandya had previously been criticized for his captaincy during the 2021 season, when MI finished last in the table.

After disappointing performances in Ahmedabad and Hyderabad, MI will now face perhaps the most unforgiving crowd in the IPL. The team will face the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on May 27, a city where they have traditionally struggled.
