San Antonio Animal Neglect Cases on the Rise

ACS reports increase in complaints

Concerned citizens urged to report suspected cases

San Antonio, TX - Animal Care Services (ACS) is reporting a recent rise in animal neglect cases in the city. In the past month, ACS has received over 500 complaints of animal neglect, up from 400 in the same period last year.

The increase in cases has prompted ACS to issue a reminder to all pet owners that it is their responsibility to provide their animals with adequate food, water, shelter, and veterinary care. Neglecting an animal can result in serious penalties, including fines and jail time.

If you suspect that an animal is being neglected, you can report it to ACS by calling 210-335-9000. You can also report it online at www.sanantonio.gov/acs.
